COVID-19 is highly contagious and is known to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. By attending Lavonia First United Methodist Church, you agree to abide by the procedures established by the church to protect attendees and staff, and you voluntarily assume the risk that you and/or your family may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 either at the church, in the church worship service, or the nursery or Sunday School. You agree to assume all the risks of attendance and participation for you and your family, and you waive any liability against the church and any other parties.
Do not attend church events if you are not feeling well, have any of the COVID-19 symptoms (cough, fever, shortness of breath), have been knowingly exposed to COVID-19 in the last 14 days, or have significant health risks.
Arriving at Church
We ask you to practice social distancing recommendations by trying to stay 6 feet apart from others and limiting physical touch.
Please bring and wear a mask to church events. If you have a health condition that limits the wearing of a mask, please do what will help you feel safe. A limited supply of masks will be available at the church for those who do not have a mask. Cloth masks are fine. When you wear a mask, please cover both your mouth and nose with the material.
We ask you to bring some hand sanitizer to help you keep your hands clean. Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance to our building. You can also wash your hands in the restrooms.
Our building will have limited access. Please follow signs to use the appropriate entrance and exit. You will be able to enter the building at the doors near the ramp next to the kitchen. You can also enter the building at the red door of the sanctuary.
Please participate as you feel comfortable.
Please wear your mask during the service. Wearing a mask is very effective in reducing the possible transmission of germs and viruses.
Please observe social distancing guidelines. We will not have a fellowship moment for shaking hands. Please greet people from a distance.
Worship bulletins will be placed on open seating spaces.
Offering plates/ bags will be placed at the front and rear of the sanctuary. You can drop off your tithes and offerings in the plates/ bags as you enter or leave worship.
The worship service will be shorter and simplified.
Please do not sit in the pew rows and areas marked off for social distancing.
After the service, we will depart by rows. Please exit the building as quickly as possible. Also, remember to practice social distancing as you leave.
If you are diagnosed with COVID-19 after attending worship or a church event, please contact Pastor Hugh as soon as possible. The church will need to let the congregation know of potential COVID-19 exposure. The church will abide by and follow health guidelines in regards to healthcare information and personal confidentiality.
